SOCIAL OR COMPETITIVE PLAY?
Thame Badminton Club has a good variety of player abilities allowing us to successfully offer both social and competitive play, so whether you just want to play at club nights, get some match experience or play higher level league matches, come along and give us a try.
We currently run the following teams:
- Oxford Mens League - Division 2,
- Team consists of 6 Men in 3 pairs. Matches are made up of 9 games with each pair playing each of the opponents 3 pairs.
- All games are best of 3 to 21 with setting
- Aylesbury Medley League - Division 1
- Team consists of 2 men and 2 ladies. Matches are made up of 6 games. 1 mens doubles, 1 ladies doubles and 4 mixed doubles games.
- All games are best of 3 to 21 with setting
- Aylesbury Mens League - Division 2
- This team consists of 4 men in 2 pairs. Matches are made up of 6 games where each pair plays each of the opponents mens pairs (Players 1 & 2 play the opposing 1 & 2, then 3 & 4) before the two pairs splitting (eg player 1 plays with player 3, and player 2 plays with 4) .
- All games are best of 3 to 21 with setting
- Aylesbury Handicap Knock Out Tournament
- This team consists of 3 men & 3 ladies selected for each match from a group of 5 men & ladies. The team as a whole is given a handicap - a number of points that are added to the results of each match. Each man and lady plays 2 doubles and 1 mixed
- All games are 2 sets to 21 with no setting
- Winner is the team with the most points including the handicap at the end. The number of individual games won is irrelevant.
